Dr. Robin Vicken Ohannessian recently had the incredible opportunity to speak at the Leadership Development and Innovation Academy, where he inspired over 20 healthcare professionals with his global health innovation journey. He shared the highs and lows of his career, the lessons learned, and the experiences that shaped his vision for the future of healthcare, driven by AI, digital health, and telehealth.
Drawing on his vast international experience, Dr. Ohannessian discussed Vickino’s innovative path forward through its Advisory, Ventures, and Studio activities. His real-life examples from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia showcased the power of determination and creativity in transforming healthcare systems globally.
He passionately spoke about building a health innovation ecosystem in Armenia through education, research, mentorship, and advisory support to both public and private sectors. His words resonated deeply, sparking a desire among the participants to drive positive change during this lecture conducted at Wigmore hospital in Yerevan.
Dr. Ohannessian concluded with a personal story about his relocation to Armenia and his discovery of a new passion for mountain hiking, allowing him to both better discover the country but also himself. His recent climbs to the 5,000+ meter summit of Mount Ararat and the 4,000+ meter summit of Mount Sipan, among the highest peaks of the Armenian Highlands, have fueled his determination to keep pushing forward, pursuing his goals for a healthier, more innovative Armenia.
